Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center strives to provide the residents and families many services that reflect our caring attitude.

Hospice Services

To those residents who may be dealing with a limited life expectancy, Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is able to assist during this difficult time with Hospice Services. Hospice not only provides extra nursing care in the nursing home but has a social service department, counselors, therapists and clergy who cater to the emotional and spiritual needs of the resident and family members. The Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center's Social Services Department will be glad to assist with Hospice Services or answer any questions you may have.

Respite Care

Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center can provide short term respite care, less than 30 days, in our Skilled Care side. This respite care allows family members "time away" when caring for their loved one in the home.

Transportation

Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center's Social Services Department can assist in setting up transportation services for our residents. Available to Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center residents is OATS and Dial-A-Ride for local trips. Social Services will also set up transportation for scheduled medical procedures or Doctor's visits to Medicaid eligible residents.

Notary Services

Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center offers free Notary Services to residents and families on a Monday thru Friday basis.

Religious and Chaplain Service

Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is proud of the variety of Religious Services that are provided to the residents. Services are provided throughout the week for residents to attend at their choosing from such leading Churches as; Community of Christ, Baptist, Catholic, Restoration, Methodist, and Church of Christ.

Beauty/Barber Salon

Residents of Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center are able to have their hair styled, cut or permed in our privately owned and operated Beauty Salon. Our Beauty/Barber Salon also provides many other services such as beard trimming, color or rinses, manicures, and waxing, all moderately priced.

Cable Television

Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center provides complimentary basic cable television service for each resident. Families or residents may choose to upgrade the service for a monthly fee and have more channel selections available.

Intravenous Therapy

IV Therapy can be administered at Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. In providing the best care possible Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center 's Director of Nursing will assess IV Therapies on a case by case basis.

Visiting Specialists

Resident's and families can rely on Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center to provide the very best of Physicians. These include our Medical Director, Dentist, Podiatrist, Psychiatrist, Psychologist and an Optometrist. Some services are paid for by Medicare or Medicaid.

Rehabilitation Services

Residents at Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center benefit from the professional attention of our Physical, Occupational and Speech therapists. Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center Rehabilitative Services combine state-of-the-art technology with proven treatment protocol to achieve the results that are necessary for residents to regain their highest level of functioning.

Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is within minutes of excellent community hospitals and hospitals in the Kansas City area. Our resident's may choose the hospital of their choice such as Centerpoint Medical Center, St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs, Lee's Summit Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City, St. Luke's Northland Hospital, Saint Luke's East, Research Medical Center, North Kansas City Hospital, Liberty Hospital, just to name a few.

Private Dining Room

Another accommodation of Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is our Private Dining Room. This elegant dining room may be reserved by residents or family members for a private meal, birthday party or other event. Families often bring favorite home cooked meals for the resident and family to enjoy, or they may bring food from a favorite restaurant. With notice, meals can be served in our private dining room for a nominal fee by our excellent dietary department. The choice is yours at Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Ombudsman Program

Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center participates in the Kansas City Area Ombudsman Program. This program is designed to give our residents another voice in solving issues or concerns. Our Ombudsman visits routinely with residents just to introduce our residents to the Ombudsman program or to discuss issues of any type that may interest the resident. With the resident's permission, the Ombudsman may discuss an issue with our administrative staff for solutions. Again Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center strives to provide our residents with every available resource in the Kansas City Area.
